4/24/2026 0 Comments We are pleased to share some exciting news: we have a new supporter of our work. The Parry Family Charitable Foundation is a small, independent grant-making foundation that supports energetic and highly efficient charities making a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
We met with Nick Parry and Hannah in early February, which led to our first grant from the Foundation to support our work. This initial grant funded the purchase of formula. With rising prices and ongoing uncertainty, many families are accessing our support for the first time. Having supplies in place so we can help immediately is vitally important. For context we assisted over 600 families over 1100 times last year with all kinds of baby essentials and clothes, included in these figures are many families we helped with formula. We spent £1400 in 2025 to provide formula and sharp increase on prior years. Compare that to this year, from January to March 2026 we have already spent over £600 on formula purchases. The rise in need is substantial and the grant from the Parry Family Foundation is already making a major difference to our small charity being able to provide for so many families. As the Parry Family Foundation prioritises relationship-building, not just the distribution of grants, we are delighted to develop our partnership and strengthen our connection in the future.

We want to thank Dawn Ruck of Tesco Lydney for these amazing donations! We will be able to help so many families who are struggling right now!
Thank you! For the whole of January The Forest of Dean Baby Bank will be on hand during The River Centre's Community Cafe's. These are held on Tuesdays mornings from 8:45-10:00. If you need winter clothes for your children, shoes, school uniform or anything else your baby might need please come by, we will be very happy to help!
We have been so generously supported this year that we felt compelled to do a massive thank you to everyone who fundraised for us. From sponsored climbs to sponsored walks, raffles, bingo nights, and donation drives, monthly gifts, recycling initiatives and the highly publicised Lorraine’s Big Baby Bank Appeal with Morrisons. The love and support we have received galvanises us to keep on doing a work we are honoured to carry out.
While we have also been supported by large organisations and grant funders this year - for which are very grateful and wouldn’t be able to cover our overheads, such as rent, electricity, insurance and delivery costs, or buying large amounts of new socks and underwear, school uniform and clothes when donated stock is not adequate, it is the donations and fundraising efforts of the community that comforts and strengthens us as we continue to hold out a safety net for any family facing hard times or wanting to reduce waste by taking advantage of swapping out children’s clothes for the next size up. Our volunteers go to work on their ‘day’ with joy and determination. We are a small team who get an enormous amount done because of how much this work personally means to us. Until the day Baby Banks are no longer needed, we will be here, answering the phone, emails, messages, sorting, packing and delivering for any family who needs help. From all of us at the Baby Bank Team, thank you The day promised an enormous amount of rain on the 20th July, but we set up and hoped for the best. Despite the showers that kept coming and going it was a successful day. Our Tombola and Lucky Dip games were very popular and we did get to give some uniform away.
